what to wear when
Hiiii!! So I realized that I haven’t talked about what outfits to wear to a special occasion in a while! Today I am going to talk about alllll the fits for any occasion!!
Weddings!
Starting off strong, we have weddings! I love love love weddings, but sometimes the dress code is a little confusing. There are about 4 different dress codes that the bride and groom suggest that you wear. Let me break it down. First, we have BLACK TIE! This is pretty self-explanatory, but I can give you some options. For the men, obviously a suit. Black jacket, black bow tie, and a white button-up dress shirt. For my ladies, this is mainly formal dresses. Floor-length bright-colored dresses. By bright-colored, I mean, greens and light blues. Next up, we have a FORMAL wedding. This is really close to a BLACK TIE event, but about two levels down on the scale. For the men, pretty much the same thing, but a regular tie works better. Plus you can wear a different color suit, but keep it dark. For my ladies, formal dresses are a must! But always remember that this isn’t your day so keep the dress pretty simple. Next up is SEMI-FORMAL! Depending on what the bride and groom suggest, this one is a little more difficult. For the SEMI-FORMALS that lean to the formal side, a mid-calf dress works best. Keep the color and jewelry simple. For the men, a blue or light grey suit works best. You have the option of wearing a matching necktie or not. And lastly, we have CASUAL! Now, this really depends on the couple getting married because there are lots of different ways to dress casually for a wedding. The first option for my ladies is just a short Sunday dress. The next option would be dress pants and a colorful blouse! For my guys, jeans are an option for some weddings. Jeans and a classic button-up look great! Another option would be khakis and a nice button-up for the boys.
Birthdays!
I know some people don’t like their birthdays to be a big deal, but I certainly do! So I want to describe different types of parties/get-togethers and the fits I would wear to each of them. First up, we have a big celebration! Lots of fancy food and fancy decorations! If it were my birthday, I would wear a sparkly jumpsuit and heels! I feel like jumpsuits are always a good option when you want to dress up, but you don’t want to wear a dress. Of course with the jumpsuit comes lots of accessories! Earrings, sparkly heels, and a fancy purse. Next, we have a birthday brunch. I love a good brunch especially when I get to celebrate someone‘s birthday! For brunch, what you wear really depends on when you have the brunch. For a summer brunch, jean shorts and a light crop top. For fall brunches, loose mom jeans and a light sweater! For winter brunches, cute and cozy sweats and a warm sweater. And lastly, Spring brunches! I always love wide-leg jeans and a simple top! And when going to a birthday brunch, you should never forget the birthday cake!!
A Day in Town!
Sometimes I really love dressing up for no reason, so that’s the type of fits I am going to talk about here. When going downtown with a few friends, I always look forward to a cute fit. I would wear loose jeans with a big graphic tee and some slip on shoes. But if I wanted to go the more casual route, I would wear black leggings and comfy, plain sweater with chunky shoes.
Always remember that you look good in what you believe you look good in. It doesn't matter what other people say about you or your outfit. Your clothes don't make you who you are!!!
with love always,
