Holiday Gift Guide
I absolutely love the holidays! Everything about them, the traditions, the food, the company, everything. But there is always one small part about the holidays that is simply not my favorite. Gifts. I love giving gifts, really, but sometimes it is just so hard for me to figure out what to give someone. So in today's blog, I wanted to give you a few ideas for your fashion, accessory, and makeup loving friend.
To preface, I don't own all of these products and I have not tried all of these products. I have either seen and heard great things about them, I do own it, or I would like to try it for myself.
Fashion Forward Friend
1 A good pair of jeans. I know, that sounds crazy because jeans are so hit or miss when it comes to sizing. So, if you don't know her exact size, get her a giftcard to find some of her own. My favorite jeans are from Madewell, Anthropologie, and even Old Navy!
2 Flats! There are so many good options for this! I personally, wear some sort of ballet flat or pointed flat every single time I have an event to go to (or just anywhere I have to wear jeans to)! I have also really been into these boat shoes from Free People!
3 A barn jacket! I talk about these in the last blog, but I truly do love them. They are meant to be oversized so sizing is pretty easy. There are so many different colors to choose from, ranging from browns for fall to dark reds for Christmas, that it can't miss with this one. I know J.Crew has some, but I got my barn jacket off of Amazon and it's perfect!
4 Lace scarves. I know it might sound a little weird, but I promise your fashion-loving friend knows what I'm talking about. There has been this trend going around of people wearing a white or black lace scarf (the square scarves) around their waist. It peaks out under their tops and sits right above their jeans. I personally LOVE this trend and would love to find a good lace scarf for myself!
5 Matching sets are always a good gift. I don't mean a lounge matching set, more of a higher fashion, more elevated, even fancier set. This can be in the form of a skirt and top, pants and tank, skirt and tank, pants and top, anything. There are some from Princess Polly that look great and are affordable too!
Accessories- More Please
1 I will always say this, but I think everyone should have a watch! It doesn't matter if it's cheap or doesn't work, or you can't even tell the time, I think it's important to wear a watch. It makes your outfit complete and always looks like you have your life together. I'll always shoutout Murphy Pitard Jewelers, but you can also find affordable ones online!
2 Once again, I'll repeat myself until I turn blue, but I think everyone should own a belt. Even if you don't need a belt, when you tuck your shirt into the front of your jeans, it's better to see a belt buckle instead of the bulk of your shirt. These are super simple and can be found on Amazon!
3 Jewelry! This goes along with the watch idea. Personally, I love wearing a stack of bracelets that I never have to take off, so I can wake up and still look like I put a little effort in. My favorite one is from Etsy! The tennis bracelet one! Don't worry, they're not real diamonds, but I never take it off and it still looks good as new!
4 Hair tools or hair accessories! When I had super long hair, I always enjoyed getting to wear a fun accessory in my hair! Now that my hair is short, I love getting to try new tools to see how it makes my hair look. I'm still experimenting with my bob, but I still love it!
5 Sunnies! Unfortunately, since my sunglasses always have to be prescription, I never get to try fun new sunglasses! These are the perfect accessory for any season! A few of my favorites are from Dillard's!
Make up & Beauty!
1 ITK skincare! I used to struggle with severe acne for YEARS! I tried product after product, different types of medicines, and even dove fragrance free hand soap! It was definitely a journey, but I finally found ITK (in the know) and my skin cleared up! It's even at Walmart! Not only did it clear up, it's also so hydrated and looks so healthy!
2 The Clinique Almost Lipstick in shade Black Honey! I This is by far my favorite lip product! The color of the actual lipstick looks pretty dark, but I promise it goes on a perfect light pink! It always looks super natural and it's super affordable! You can find it at Ulta or on Amazon!
3 Perfume! If your friend that you are shopping for doesn't already have a signature scent, this is such a great gift idea! It doesn't have to become their go-to and it doesn't have to be expensive. The perfume I use now is from Target, but my all time favorite is Amore by Vince Camuto which can be found at Walmart now!
4 Makeup brushes! For your makeup loving friend, it's probably time for them to retire their old makeup brushes anyway. I know everyone has their brand of brushes that they love, but my go-to is always the ELF brushes! They are super soft and super easy to clean!
5 Heatless curlers! When I had long hair, I tried these often and I never found one that was comfortable enough to sleep in, but I know there is one out there! I've seen so many people using the one from Kitsch!
This was a lot of fun to write and even added a few things to my own wishlist! I hope this gave you a good idea for your friend, or yourself!
with love always,
Charli
