Rush Week Outfits

I hate to sound like a broken record but... it's been a while. I know, I know, I have neglected the blog for a whole year now! I have to say that I do think about blog topics often and I always seem to want to take a second to sit down and write a blog! However, senior year of high school, moving to college, going through rush, and starting college doesn't really allow much extra time for blog writing. With that being said, I want to get back to it!

If you didn't know, I go to the University of Arkansas, and went through the recruitment process (joining a sorority). Throughout this week, you are somewhat expected to show up and show out. There is an unspoken standard for your outfits throughout the week, but everyone had a different experience during the recruitment process, so I can only speak for me, This is just going to be an overview of my outfits and thoughts throughout rush!

Tops

For most schools, Panhellenic will provides a t-shirt for each day. These t-shirts are all different colors with different words and designs on them. No one knows what the t-shirts look like before the first day of rush, therefore, you can't spend days trying to find the perfect match for shorts. You kind of just have to work with what you have. This was probably the best thing for me, because I put so much pressure on myself for find the perfect outfit ever. But, since this was the case, I couldn't fully prepare. I just knew I had to find a wide variety of cute skirts and shorts that would match multiple different colors!

Skirts and Shorts

Trying to find the best skirts for rush was a difficult task for me. I knew I wanted to be different, so I tried to find skirts from places not everyone else would shop. But in reality, there were so many girls all wearing the same shirt, so it was inevitable that a few people would be matching. But, before rush week, I thought I would have to search up and down for the cutest, yet unique bottoms. I shopped at stores like Madewell, Anthropology, and Princess Polly; however, the cutest skirt I found was at Walmart. I wore this skirt on the first day of rush and everyone loved it. This is just your reminder that you don't have to spend hundreds of dollars on an outfit. You can also shop at Walmart, or other well known places, and still find cute and different clothes!

Details

You know I can't go without talking about the details! Throughout rush week, you want to be yourself, but you also want to stand out. This is where your details come in. Personally, you know I LOVE jewelry, so I wore all of it throughout the week! It was always a fun conversation starter. If you see me at any point throughout the year, there's a good chance that I'm wearing a scarf. Even during rush week, I wore a little scarf once or twice. It was a fun accessory that not everyone else had!

Rush week was so much fun and I can't wait to write about more fun fashion topics soon!!

with love always,

Charli
