The Concept of Fashion
Fashion comes in all different shapes and styles. When it comes to fashion, you can make it whatever you want. It doesn't matter what other people say fashion is.
Welcome to CHARLI'S CLOSET! In this blog, I will be talking about my general idea of fashion. What is fashion? How does fashion vary? Why is fashion different everywhere we go? The answers I have to these questions are what I think. You may or may not agree, and that is ok!!
What is Fashion?
I've thought about this question for a while and I don't have a very good answer. The best way I could describe it is 'the way people dress' or 'the clothes people wear'. But I don't think fashion can be fully described because it can be so different for everyone. For you, fashion can mean models walking down a runway. But for me, fashion can simply mean the clothes you have in your closet. Fashion is very different for everyone.
How Does Fashion Change?
This seems like a very simple question with a simple answer. But the truth is, I don't know. I don't know exactly how fashion changes. The way people come up with trends or how they decide to put specific things together. It could be because they didn't have the right shirt to match their pants. But they really wanted to wear those pants, so they improvised. Or any other way trends could have been made by mistake. Well it turns out that it wasn't a mistake, because when they switched their shirt, they started a trend. What I am trying to say is if you want to wear something but you've never seen anyone wear something like it, wear it anyway. You could be the trendsetter of a next new thing or a new changemaker to the fashion world.
Why is fashion different in different places?
I know this one! Fashion is different in different places because of time. I know that might sound a little confusing but the explanation is pretty simple. Fashion in New York is very different from fashion in El Dorado, Arkansas. Let's say you see someone in New York that has on a shirt that you happen to think is really cute, but you would never wear it in Arkansas. Why is that? I think it's because of timing. No one in Arkansas knows about that cute shirt in New York. So you don't know how people would react. Would they think it was cute? Would they think it looked weird? What would they think? Well, it really doesn't matter what they think. If you like the shirt, wear it. But if no one wears that stylish New York shirt in Arkansas, the trend won't come south until later. That's why fashion is different everywhere.
Always remember that you look good in what you believe you look good in. It doesn't matter what other people say about you or your outfit. Your clothes don't make you who you are!!!
with love always, Charli
